Q. How do we make a booking ?
A. Ok.....once you have made the wise decision to book us simply get in touch with your contact details and the date, type and location of the event . We will then contact you to discuss all your details and requirements. No 2 gigs are ever the same so we'll work with you on exactly what you need.
Q. Will we need to give you a deposit ?
A. Yes. In order to secure the date (as much for you as for us!) we require a deposit, with the balance usually being due the day we play. Should it happen to be a short notice gig that we've managed to squeeze in for you we often allow for payment on the night, before we set up and play. That's something we can discuss once you make contact if required.
Q. What happens if we cancel the gig?
A. On booking we'll make sure you're aware of our full cancellation policy, however we're sure you'll understand that depending on the proximity of the gig, we may have to keep all or some of your deposit.

Q. What happens if the band has to cancel ?
A. If we have to cancel for any reason at any time ( i.e. fire, flood, alien invasion ) we will refund 100% of any payment made to us. In that very unlikely event we would also do our very best to help you find a replacement band. And to put your mind at rest further, we have a bank of wonderful musicians we can call on in the event of a member being ill on your date.....you wouldn't even notice the difference!
Q. How long do you play for ?
A. Our standard playing time is two 1 hour sets, however each gig is different and we really can work around your requirements. We will always ask you specifically if there is a time slot you prefer ( some slots are 30 minutes and then 90 to allow for the party to really kick in!! ) .Should you have any specific time frame in mind, again we will discuss that after your initial contact. Basically if we exceed what is considered the " standard " times it may reflect in the costing.
Q. If we want a " special " song for our wedding can you play it for us ?
A. Yes - we love being able to perform your special songs (as long as we have enough notice)! Please bear in mind though that whilst we are an accomplished experienced band, the production of some material makes it challenging to play live, however we will work with you to give it our special twist!

Q. Who chooses all the other songs ?
A. On our Song List page here, you would have seen a selection of the numbers we do. We'll chat to you about your requirements and match the set list as closely as possible to what you require. Rest assured, we are absolutely not one of those bands that only play what they want!
Q. Do you look smart when you play ?
A. The Taxplayers take all bookings seriously, irrespective of the nature, so yes absolutely. We arrive in matching Taxplayers polo shirts to set up, sound check etc, and then before the guests arrive we will change to be suited & booted, as you'll see on our website. We appreciate the effort you go to to look good, so why wouldn't we?!

Q. Can you play pre recorded music during the rest of the evening ?
A. Yes indeed! We have a DJ in the band ( closely guarded secret ) and Matt the keyboard player is also able to play soft background piano should that be an option you wish to consider. Please bear in mind that sometimes those extras may generate a modest extra cost. Again we are happy to discuss that with you.
Q. What would you expect to be provided for the band by us and /or the venue ?
A. Ok.....none of this is a deal breaker (and most venues will expect to provide this anyway) but usually we ask for the following :-

Q. Do you have insurance and PAT testing for the equipment ?
A. Yes we do. We have public liability insurance via The Alliance of Music and Performers (certificate is accessible online on our homepage) and all gear is tested regularly (certificate available on request) .
Q. Talking about your equipment, is it reliable ?
A. It most certainly is. We have a modern powerful PA that's capable of handling pretty much all internal venues . We also have a lighting set up that helps to provide a great atmosphere for the evening. Should you have a bigger outside gig in mind we have a separate 8kw PA, stage and sound engineer too. Normally that's not needed.
Q. So what's stopping me booking you ?
